BEGINNER CLASSES
Grades 4K/5K-2nd

Storybooks come to life in this beginner drama class as students will learn basic acting and presentation skills through imaginative play, theatre games, and character-building activities. This class encourages communication, collaboration, and understanding of story structure!

Tiny dances moves for tiny dancers! Students explore storytelling through movement to Disney favorites! This class encourages physical awareness, coordination, and creative physical expression!
INTERMEDIATE CLASSES
Grades 4th+

ACE your next audition in this intermediate musical theatre class! Students break down the audition process: Select songs, polish monologues, pick-up choreography fast! Perfect for new and seasoned performers alike, this class encourages creativity, individuality, and boosts confidence!

Sharpen your actor tools: body, voice and mind, in this intermediate acting class! Students expand their understanding of story structure and performance skills and focus on character development through ensemble scene study. This class encourages exploration, relationship skills, and critical thinking!
*Improv I or Actor Toolbox is a prerequisite for this class or if starting at a slightly older age.

5-6-7-8! Students apply foundational skills in jazz, ballet and tap dance to Broadway’s best production numbers! This class encourages physical awareness, strength, and storytelling in movement!
*Broadway Dance I or equivalent experience is a prerequisite for this class or if starting at a slightly older age

Think FAST! Students must trust their instincts and work as a team to create characters, relationships, and scenes unscripted, pulling comedy from the world around them! “Yes, AND” is rule #1. This class encourages collaboration, mental flexibility, and comedic timing.

On guard! Students learn basic stage combat safety, terminology and technical skills in hand-to-hand combat and swordplay. Lead by an instructor, students will choreograph perform thrilling and dynamic fight scenes! This class encourages control, physicality, and presentation skills!

Roll up those sleeves! Students get their hands into every step of the creative process; exploring workshops in costuming design, sewing, prop creation, set building and painting, lighting, stage management and more. Tech Classes work is showcased on stage in LCP Mainstage and Academy productions!
ELEMENTARY CLASSES
Grades 2nd-5th+

Fill your "Actor's Toolbox" with the tools necessary for building strong characters in this beginner acting class! Students activate their bodies, voices and minds through ensemble exercises, games, and scene work. This class encourages exploration, relationship skills, and critical thinking!

You can’t stop the beat! Students learn foundational musical theatre dance skills and terminology in this beginner dance class. This class encourages coordination, confidence, and musicality in movement!

No scripts, just fun! Students use their imaginations, take risks, and learn to be in the moment in this fun and energetic game-based improv class! This class encourages collaboration, mental flexibility, and comedic timing!

ADVANCED CLASSES
Grades 6th-12th

Ready to take your acting to the next level? Students with a foundation of acting skills dive deeper with more challenging material in this advanced acting class. This class encourages literacy, attention to detail, self-discovery!
*Actor Toolbox I or II or a Production Workshop is a prerequisite for this class.

Creative juices flow in this fast-paced playwriting and directing class! Students adapt literary classics for the stage, learning to analyze the text to create, direct and perform in compelling scenes with interesting characters. This class develops reading & writing skills and requires collaboration and self-motivation!
PRODUCTION WORKSHOPS

Kate Hamill’s Sense and Sensibility is a fast-paced, lively adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel. Full of humor, romance, and biting social commentary, the play follows the Dashwood sisters—practical Elinor and passionate Marianne—as they navigate love, heartbreak, and the constraints of society. With a playful and energetic ensemble, this fresh take on the beloved story is both charming and thought-provoking.

OK to repeat! - choose classes based on the skills desired, it’s OK to take a class more than once as the materials used to teach the concepts will change each session.
Age ranges are guidelines - If you believe your child should be considered for a class outside of the listed age range based on their prior experience please contact education@lakecountryplayhousewi.org
Class times/days are subject to change from one session to the next based on a variety of factors, or in the the case of low enrollment groups of the same subject may be combined. Classes must have at least 4-6 students enrolled to run.
