ABOUT THE SHOW:
Hermes tells us how the world was made, and how it might be made again. Anaïs Mitchell's Tony Award-winning Hadestown intertwines two mythic love stories — young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and the long, weary marriage of King Hades and Persephone — as it follows Orpheus on his impossible journey to the underworld to bring back the woman he loves. Set to a haunting score of American folk and New Orleans jazz, this Teen Edition brings one of Broadway's most electrifying musicals to our Academy stage, performed by the next generation of storytellers. A story about doubt, hope, and singing anyway.
